Feeling Accomplished

Holidays and feeling like crap got in the way of my weekly workout routine. Despite not wanting to go to the gym and just curl up in bed I went, rode 11 miles, lifted weights, got a message and now icing my knee. Not sure what that's all about but it will be fine. I got glutened last night. My own fault. I'm so used to having gluten free granola that I got some on my frozen yogurt. Spent the night fighting off pain of flares. Fun stuff.

8 Foods to Help Fight Rheumatoid Arthritis

My new bracelet I will wear proudly

Another unsuccessful ween

I tried and failed yet again to ween myself from the prednisone. I'm not sure if the injections in my knee are triggering my body to react but something is. I am back playing tennis as well as just trying to work through the pain. Back on steroids which after the brutal flare last week (the worst in 7 months I think) I am gladly taking. Still flaring a bit but determined to manage with the lowest dose of prednisone possible. 5mg. From 30mg last week I am down to half. Here's hoping. This is truly a very frustrating disease.

Day 4......No Prednisone. Well....except the one in my knee.

I was hoping to hit the 4 week mark being on Methotrexate before stopping the prednisone completely but I missed it by a day. I just forgot to take it but I guess you are starting to feel really good if you forget to take the pill right? I was down to 5 mg for the last four days. This is the longest I've had success since the fall, so about 3 months. The real test will be tennis on Thursday but I still plan on playing. I did have to get injections today for the osteo arthritis. The left gets syn visc for pretty severe deterioration. That is also linked to gluten intolerance. Imagine that. I have been very strict about not getting "glutened" voluntarily or involuntarily. Hopefully this is it and the meds have kicked in. I have a increase in random pain in the arms and hands but not flares....yay!
